The LINUX version of PREPRO2026 comes with executable codes and data all in a single directory (RUN) in compressed form. All of the data files in the LINUX package are in DOS format, ready to be used on any LINUX system. All executables were created on a LINUX syatem and the RUN directory was compressed on a LINUX system, improving the probability that executables will run on any other LINUX computer. 1) Copy RUN.7z to your hard drive. First uncompress this file to find a directory named RUN which contained 46 files. To uncompress we recommend that you use 7-zip, which is available FREE on the internet, or any similar uncompressing code that you may have. RUN includes everything, codes and data, that you need to executable all codes. 2) To VERIFY proper installation, it is recommended that after install you execute VERIFY-ALL.BAT (Be sure to type the entire name, VERIFY-ALL, to avoid a conflict with the DOS verify command). This is a batch file that will run ALL of the codes one after the other in sequence. 3) The final two codes will display the calculated cross sections (EVALPLOT) and compare the results you calculated to a standard set (COMPLOT). Differences of about 1 % to 2% are acceptable; larger differences indicate an installation problem. If plots are displayed before the batch file (VERIFY-ALL.BAT) finishes, the system has been verified and is ready to use. If you do not obtain plots there was an ERROR during installation; in this case see case 5) below. 4) After running VERIFY-ALL the RUN directory will contain many large ENDF formatted data files and report (.LST) files that you may not be interested in - you can either using the original RUN file with 46 files - or run CLEANUP to delete ALL of the files created by VERIFY-ALL - CLEANUP as supplied here includes simple commands for WINDOWS/DOS - for use on any other system YOU must change the commands, e.g., del to rm - copy to cp. 5) If the executables DO NOR ALL RUN on your computer, try the OTHER directory, to create your own executables> In this case start over with both OTHER directories: SOURCES and RUN - Note: this RUN file is not the same as the RUN file under LINUX; it does not include any executables = you must create them. 6) If you still have any problems notify the Nuclear Data Section, IAEA, Vienna, Austria To contact the Nuclear Data Section, IAEA, use. services@iaeand.iaea.or.at
